Nevada police say he was arrested in a child sex sting. Netanyahu’s office denies it ever happened. And the Trump administration? Silent.
Las Vegas, NV — In a story that would be dominating headlines if the suspect were anyone else, an Israeli government cybersecurity official was reportedly arrested in Nevada on felony charges of attempting to lure a child online for sex — only to be swiftly released and allowed to fly back to Israel.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Tom Artiom Alexandrovich, 38, was one of eight men arrested during a two–week undercover investigation led by Nevada’s Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. Alexandrovich faces charges of “luring a child with a computer for a sex act,” which under Nevada law carries up to ten years in prison.
But unlike the other suspects, Alexandrovich was quickly released from custody and returned home to Israel. His LinkedIn page identified him as the executive director of the Israel Cyber Directorate, a government agency under the direct purview of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. That page was deleted soon after the arrest was made public.
Israeli media outlets, along with Netanyahu’s office, have since downplayed the scandal — even going so far as to deny that Alexandrovich was ever arrested. “The employee was not arrested and returned to Israel as scheduled,” Netanyahu’s office claimed. This statement directly contradicts both the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Nevada law enforcement, who confirmed Alexandrovich’s arrest alongside the other men in the sting operation.
Those arrested were David Wonnacott-Yahnke, 40; Tom Artiom Alexandrovich, 38; Jose Alberto Perez-Torres, 35; Aniket Brajeshkumar Sadani, 23; James Ramon Reddick, 23; Ramon Manuel Parra Valenzuela, 29; Neal Harrison Creecy, 46 and John Charles Duncan, 49. They all face felony charges of Luring a Child with Computer for Sex Act and were booked into the Henderson Detention Center with the exception of Duncan who was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
This should outrage every single person who claims to care about law and order. Imagine for a moment that the suspect had been an undocumented immigrant caught preying on children in an online sting. The same politicians and pundits who are now silent would be on every major media outlet screaming about “open borders” and “illegals preying on our kids.” Instead, because the suspect is an Israeli official with ties to Netanyahu’s government, he was quietly whisked back home with barely a peep from Washington.
The hypocrisy is glaring. An alleged child predator tied to one of America’s closest foreign allies gets the benefit of the doubt, immediate release, and international safe passage — while ordinary people accused of far lesser crimes or no crime at all, rot in jail cells waiting for bail hearings.
This case underscores a larger problem that The Free Thought Project has been exposing for years: the two–tier justice system. There are rules for regular citizens, and then there are special rules for the politically connected, the wealthy, and the powerful. Israel, one of the largest recipients of U.S. foreign aid, clearly enjoys a tier all its own.
What message does it send when a man facing felony child–luring charges can board a plane and go home, all while his government denies the arrest even happened? What faith can anyone have in the so–called rule of law when the U.S. bends the knee to protect foreign officials accused of crimes that destroy children’s lives?
The silence from the usual “law and order” crowd speaks volumes. Their outrage is selective, their principles malleable. When it’s convenient for their politics, they are quick to demand harsh punishment. When it involves an Israeli official — crickets.
If we lived in a country that actually cared about justice, Alexandrovich would be in a Nevada jail cell facing the same charges as the other men caught in the sting. Instead, he is back in Israel, shielded by a government that denies reality, protected by a U.S. establishment that looks the other way.
And once again, victims are left voiceless while power protects power.
